This Wednesday 1st March is Ash Wednesday a day of Fasting and Abstinence. It is the first day of Lent. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of blessing ashes made from palm branches blessed on the previous year’s Palm Sunday, and placing them on the heads of participants to the accompaniment of the words “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”. Mass times will be:

St Carthage’s Cathedral: 8.10am
Trinity College Liturgy TSC: 8.50am
St Carthage’s Cathedral: 9.30am
Woodlawn College: 10am
St Joseph’s Nursing Home: 10.30am
