Who Is Jesus?
Jesus is the figure at the centre of Catholic Faith. He was born in the rural village of Bethlehem in modern-day Israel about 2000 years ago. He lived in relative obscurity working as a carpenter in the rural hamlet of Nazereth until about the age of 30.
He then began his short public life spanning only a few years. By His words and deeds He revealed that God his Father loved humanity.
At the centre of the Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation was the death of Jesus by crucifixion in Jerusalem and rising from the tomb after three days. This definitive victory showed Jesus to be truly the Son of God the Father, and Saviour through His suffering and death.
