Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The RCIA is the process of preparation for, and celebration of, initiation of adults (and of children who have reached the age of reason) into the Catholic Church. The sacraments of initiation are Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
Depending on circumstances in each case, those who were baptised in another Christian Church may also join in part this process; their status as baptised Christians, howerver, will be clearly acknowledged.
